I just
wanted to let you know how much your book and website helped me in my job search.
About a
year ago, I found my dream job and on the advice of your website created a Working Resume™.
I went through the interview process and the decision came down to one other candidate and myself. Because his technical
experience was better, he got the job. I was extremely disappointed, but understood that my technical skills were lacking,
even though I felt I aced every interview in the process and made a good impression.
I kept in
contact with the hiring manager and followed the organization's progress on their website since my first interview. I just
had a feeling I would be working for this company someday -- a comment I shared with the hiring manager at the time.
About
three months ago I received a call from the hiring manager, wanting to know what I was up to and to see if I still had
interest in the position. It seems that the other individual had great technical skills but did not match the culture of the
company. They remembered the impression I had made previously by "doing the job" and the
hiring manager was told by many of the other managers that they should see if I was available because they felt I was the
right fit the first time.
They
quickly scheduled an interview for the following week and I was offered the job a few days after that. I am now starting my
fifth week and enjoy my work more than I have in a long time. I really think the Working Resume and your techniques helped
me to be here today.
Thank you
for sharing your knowledge and time with all of us looking for that "dream job" I don't know if I would have
gotten this job if it wasn't for Ask the Headhunter!!
Thanks so
much!!
