I'm cured of severe interview-itis.
Date: 9/6/99

I am sure you get thousands of these, but I'm sending it anyway. I'm a 47 year old sales & marketing exec who has committed every sin you outline in your book over the last year. I mean, every one of them.

Upon reading your book, I laughed out loud through the tears. I have had severe interview-itis, and my self esteem has reached all time lows. My life was very nearly in the toilet when I read your book. Just doing one of the first exercises, writing down my work skills, began to wake me up. I began to remember my value. I don't know where I'll end up, but its bound to be a much better place than where I have been looking. Thank you for sharing this uncommon wisdom, I am so grateful.

I hope my letter will encourage someone else to get real!

I went on an interview yesterday, and using the approach in your book, decided to truly evaluate the position. You should have seen the looks on their faces when I asked if I could come in, at no cost to them, for one day to observe the work I would be doing first hand before accepting their offer. They said no one else had ever been so interested in the actual work. Again, thank you!!
