coached by The Headhunter. Use The Headhunter's insider perspective to your advantage;
don't let it sneak up and bite you!

9. Raise your standards.
Raise your standards and you raise the standards of everyone around you, including the
manager who's interviewing you or the job candidate you're considering hiring. Never
settle for the status quo. Make things better. When everyone else accepts "what
is", raise yourself to the standard of "what can be".
If you're a job candidate, don't wait for the interviewer to ask about your strengths
and weaknesses. Ask for a live problem the manager is facing, and show him how you'll
solve it.
If you're an employer, don't quiz the candidate. Put him on the job for an hour or two
and let him show you want he can do.
Expect more from yourself, and deliver. Then expect more from those around you. The few
people who deliver are the people you can trust. They are the people you'll want to hire
or go to work with.
Don't settle for what's expected. Raise your standards.
